What is online pre check-in?

Online pre check-in allows you to save time upon arrival:

  • Early signing of the rental agreement
    Sign your rental contract electronically before your arrival.
  • Secure identity verification
    Upload or photograph your passport or ID card for validation.

In France, verification of identity documents and information for foreign travelers is mandatory before any housing is provided. This is a legal requirement under Article L. 611-1 of the French Code on the Entry and Stay of Foreigners and the Right of Asylum (CESEDA).

Why is this identity verification required?

We implement this check to protect you and guard against all types of fraud:

  • Payment security
    In recent years, we have unfortunately experienced booking attempts with stolen payment cards. This verification allows us to prevent the use of fraudulent payment methods.
  • Compliance with age requirements
    Verifying your identity also ensures that no minors can book accommodation, which is strictly prohibited by law.

In accordance with Article L. 324‑1‑1 of the French Tourism Code and the obligations related to the security of short‑term furnished rentals, an official identity document is required after booking confirmation. This process aims to ensure tenant identification in line with security requirements and fraud prevention. The processing of this data is carried out in strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – EU Regulation 2016/679).

and/or would you like to protect your identity document during pre-check-in ?


To help secure your stay, we ask you to provide an identity document as part of the pre-check-in process. However, we understand that sending a copy of your ID card or passport may raise concerns, particularly because of the risk of identity theft.


If you wish, you can therefore use one of the following official solutions:


  • For holders of a French national identity card compatible with France Identité
    You can generate a     single-use proof of identity through the official France Identité service. This document allows you to prove your identity without sending us a full copy of your identity document.

  • For international and European travellers, or anyone unable to use France Identité
    You can protect the copy of your ID card or passport using     FiligraneFacile, an official service provided by the French government. It allows you to add a personalised watermark to your document in order to significantly reduce the risk of fraudulent reuse.
